MNA Hires New Executive Director 8-30-11

Montana Nonprofit Association to Seek New Executive Director (Feb 18, 2011)
The Montana Nonprofit Association (MNA) Board of Directors has announced that Brian Magee, MNA Executive Director, will be leaving MNA in the fall of 2011 to move back to his hometown of Pittsburgh to be closer to his fiancé and family. An executive transition process is now underway at MNA to hire a new Executive Director. The statewide and national search is scheduled to begin in late March, with the goal to have a new Executive Director in place by fall of 2011.   Read More & Download 

Holter Museum of Art awarded $28,000 Communications Grant (Nov. 11, 2010) 
The Excellence in Nonprofit Communications (ENC) program partners today announced their award of the 2011 ENC grant to the Holter Museum of Art.  This year, 15 area nonprofits applied for the $28,000 grant to help further the mission and capacity of nonprofits through enhanced communications planning, messaging, graphics, print and web design.

IRS Deadline Nears: Nonprofits at risk of losing tax-exempt status October 5, 2010
Congress passed a law that now requires all nonprofits to file an annual form with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Organizations that were required to file earlier this year were granted a one-time extension until October 15th by the IRS.  As the new deadline approaches, there are still nearly 440 nonprofits in Montana who are at risk.  If these organizations do not file by the end of next week, they will lose their tax-exempt status this year.

MNA Group Health Pool Continues Trend of Beating Average Premium Increases May 25, 2010
The Montana Nonprofit Association Group Benefits Trust (the Trust) is pleased to announce that premium costs for the 2010 plan year, beginning July 1, were held to an average increase of 3.7%. This means participants in the Trust have one of the lowest premium increases for an employer sponsored group benefit plan in Montana. Additionally, in what has become a rare event, two of the seven plan designs offered by the Trust will have a premium decrease for the upcoming year. The Trust has averaged a 6% annual increase since its inception in 2007.

Over 1000 Nonprofits in Montana Must Take Action to Preserve Tax-Exempt Status May 7, 2010
The Montana Nonprofit Association (MNA) encourages all nonprofit organizations in Montana, and especially smaller nonprofits with annual revenue under $25,000, to take simple and immediate steps to ensure they do not lose their tax-exempt status by May 15th.
