 First-Nonprofit-Group-logo  Unemployment Insurance Alternative: Instead of paying the state unemployment tax, 501(c)(3) organizations can opt out and elect to reimburse the state (become a reimbursable entity) for validated claims paid to former employees.  Principles and Practices for Nonprofit Excellence (PPNE): The PPNE details the widely-accepted
standards and practices of nonprofits. The 36-page guide includes information on each of the eleven
principles and the self-assessment booklet provides nonprofit professionals with an effective evaluation and reflection tool. The PPNE is available digitally at no cost to members. MNA members can also
purchase a copy of the booklets for $10 (a 50% discount!).
