serve.mt.gov | April 20-22, 2012
Helena, MT – Youth across Montana will serve their communities this weekend as part of Global Youth Service Day, the largest and longest-running service event in the world, and the only major service event dedicated to youth.
“This weekend students and youth will lead hands-on service projects that benefit their communities,” said First Lady Nancy Schweitzer. “I thank these young volunteers for tackling issues that are important to them, such as the caring for the environment, growing gardens and healthy food, and promoting recycling.”
The public is encouraged to volunteer with the children and youth in their community. Projects include Earth Day celebrations, community garden workdays, park clean-up and painting endeavors, recycling events, and artistic activities.
