Krista Tippett at RESOLVE

When we resolve, we don’t set our sights on the easy things, the low hanging fruit. To resolve is to recognize the challenge, the difficulty, the hardness of a goal, and move towards it anyways. It is knowingly embarking on a journey that will be arduous – acknowledging that success, failure, and clarity are not stopping points but rather rungs on an ever-extending ladder.

An individual’s resolve can only be as strong as the net into which it falls. Some nets we weave ourselves, others we are woven into, but all inform our ability to bounce back and press onward. Those structures, which we hope will catch us – be they identity, community, work, society – are stronger when layered and when crafted alongside others.

The change we seek for ourselves, organizations, and communities, can only be reached by moving through the hard things together. That takes radical honesty, incredible courage, and a commitment to one another. This work doesn’t always come easily. To help guide the way, MNA has invited Krista Tippett, founder and leader of the On Being Project, to our 2020 Virtual Conference.

Krista engages in the hard work of “deep thinking and moral imagination, social courage and joy, in order to renew inner life, outer life, and life together”. Krista brings people together to listen, be heard, and challenge each other. We encourage you to consider her work with civil conversations, her always thoughtful podcasts, and her well-crafted guides to joyfully exploring the human condition.

Please join me and the rest of Team MNA this September to hear from Krista directly at the 2020 Conference. We’ve resolved to bring you the very best content to expand your knowledge and connect you with your peers. Krista is sure to deliver on both. See you September 21 – 25!
