Serving on MNA’s Board of Directors
Montana Nonprofit Association (MNA) would appreciate your recommendations for candidates for the MNA Board of Directors. You may nominate yourself or someone else by submitting a letter of intent to Executive Director, Liz Moore, at [email protected]. Multiple nominations are permitted.
MNA is a statewide association dedicated solely to the strength and excellence of nonprofits in Montana. It represents more than 7,000 charitable nonprofits operating in every corner of the state. Our Board of Directors and staff believe Montana’s vitality and livability depend on a thriving nonprofit sector. We are working toward a future where nonprofits have the resources needed to fulfill their missions, are strategically connected with one another and with partners in business and government, and are recognized and celebrated for their contributions to the quality of life in Montana’s communities.
Founded as a membership association in 2001, MNA achieves its mission through advocacy and public policy, access to affordable products and services, organizational development and training, research and information sharing, and network building. Representing the richness and diversity of Montana’s charitable nonprofit community, MNA’s 750+ members address a broad array of missions, come from all four corners of the state and everywhere in between, and range in size from the smallest all-volunteer nonprofits to some of the largest organizations in Montana. MNA embodies “Many Missions, One Voice”.
Board members act in the broad interest of MNA, not as representatives of specific constituencies. Therefore, those you nominate (yourself included, if you choose) should possess qualities of vision and leadership and be able to commit the time and energy required for a three-year term.
MNA’s Governance Committee seeks candidates who will bring wisdom, diversity, candor, and creative thinking to the Board. In choosing among candidates to develop the nominee slate, the Governance Committee considers each candidate’s background and experience in the following areas:
- Knowledge of the nonprofit industry;
- How the candidate’s professional background and contributions will complement those of the current Board members and other nominees;
- Engagement in MNA activities.
Eligible candidates must be current MNA members. Nominations may be received at any time and those received by March 30th may be considered for the current year.
Please review MNA’s Board of Directors Job Description and Governance Policy for more information. If interested in nominating, please send a letter of interest to Executive Director, Liz Moore at [email protected]. Thank you.
