Courageous Self Care

Nurturing your capacity, your career, and your self-compassion with Dr. Emilie Socash

October 17, 2023 @ 11:00 am 12:00 pm

Free

What does it mean to be courageous in self-care and self-compassion…and why does this matter today? In this lively and interactive session, Dr. Emilie Socash will lead attendees through an experience in which we jointly craft a new perspective on self-care and the end results that we ultimately all want surrounding our personal capacity and our potential careers.

This session will be structured into three segments:

  1. The origins of self-care and self-compassion…and why we need a better way to activate around each.
  2. How we can think of our future self in terms of “capacity,” recognize our personal be-do gaps and reordering our thinking using the be-do-have model.
  3. The impact that our career aspirations have on the self, and how to hack this for the good.

This session is designed for professionals at all levels of experience, whether new to the nonprofit sector or established in the field. The time together will be spent in active reflection, inclusive contemplation, and interactive learning. In the midpoint of the session, Dr. Socash will share a brief introduction to the Merit® Nonprofit Professional Development platform specific to the conversation surrounding capacity.

Dr. Emilie Socash, here in glasses and a black t-shirt, will present Courageous Self Care as a partnership training with MNA.
