Most of us didn’t get into nonprofit work or onto nonprofit boards because of our deep love of analyzing financial statements. But the truth is that our financial statements can tell a powerful story about our organization and can provide a unique perspective about how our mission’s create impact in our community.
This two-hour session is designed for the “non-financial focused” nonprofit staff or board member who wants to be more adept at reading, analyzing, and communicating about nonprofit financial statements. Participants will learn the structure of the major nonprofit financial statements and will be given tools, resources, and guidance to spot insights, track trends, and communicate valuable information to their stakeholders. Bring your questions, assumptions, pain points, and come ready to talk dollars and cents.
If you are so inclined, also feel free to bring your laptop and/or your current financial statements. Examples will be provided, but space will be made for you to work on your own statements – with help – if you so choose.
