How To Prepare for Strategic Planning with Liz Moore of The Planning School

May 23 @ 10:00 am 11:15 am

You and your team want the clarity, focus, and direction a strategic plan can provide. Don’t waste time and resources beginning a strategic planning process without knowing you’re ready for it and setting your team up to be successful.

Participants in this workshop will answer these questions:

  • Is strategic planning actually the right thing for us right now?
  • Are there any risk factors that we must address before beginning strategic planning?
  • Is there any work that needs to be completed before we start?
  • How do we prepare our team, staff, and board for the process?
  • What model of planning should we use?

Audience

This workshop is ideal for nonprofit leaders, managers, and board members considering strategic planning in the next six to eighteen months.

BONUS: Anyone who attends live gets a free, 30-minute Planning Preparedness Consultation with Liz Moore from Planning School. In the consultation, we’ll explore your nonprofit’s specific circumstances and you’ll get advice about how to prepare your organization for strategic planning.

About Liz Moore

Liz Moore (the other one). I love helping purpose-driven leaders have greater impact! On the surface, it looks like solving complex problems, building strong teams, and executing nimble strategies. Underneath, it’s really about delivering experiences that light up people’s courage and turn on their connection to purpose. My real-world experience leading complex organizations includes working with an organizational development firm where I was a managing partner and led innovations in training and facilitating methodologies. I was an advisor for natural and cultural resource managers nationwide, consulting with many of the most complex units in the National Park Service.

Some of my most rewarding work has been with nonprofits, where I’ve worked from the “outside” and “inside.” I’ve consulted nonprofits through start-up, full reorganizations and rebranding, and, of course, strategic planning. I’ve been an employee, working in development and operations management. And I’ve been a volunteer, serving on a working board and on nonprofit committees and helping with projects. I’m a strategic thinking expert, master facilitator, skilled teacher, and leadership coach.
