White Women in Nonprofits: leveraging our role for racial justice

February 15, 2023 @ 11:00 am 2:00 pm

Come join Michelle Muri of the Ethical Rainmaker podcast and Community Centric Fundraising Co-Founder for a workshop to explore the constraints and challenges of your own whiteness and white supremacy culture within your nonprofit workplace. Discover the ways that white folks perpetuate and uphold the harmful tenants of white supremacy culture.

Using examples from development work, this workshop is for any nonprofit worker who is interested in deepening their commitment to being in solidarity for racial justice.

We will:

  • identify how to talk about your racism and the racism in your organization/development dep
  • what to do about it- both self awareness and organizational change needs
  • how to bring love and authenticity into the conversation
  • ways to release guilt and shame so you can be effective

This is particularly for you if you are a white woman in fundraising who wants to be in a commitment to racial justice.

Our work together will be anchored in Community-Centric Principles, including (Principle #2) the individual is not as important as the collective community, (Principle #3) what it looks like to be generous with and mutually supportive of one another, (Principle #4) valuing contributions equitably and (Principle #6), that we occasionally have difficult conversations.

Free – $175
