The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation has awarded a $1 million grant to the Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County toward the construction of a new clubhouse in Polson. The current clubhouse is able to serve just 50 kids a day; the new clubhouse will give hte Boys and Gifls Club the abilty to serve up to 200 kids a day once it reaches full capacity. The new Polson Clubhouse will give the Boys & Girls Club the ability to serve hundreds of kids a year, with the potential of serving 200 kids daily once it reaches full capacity.  Mike Halligan, Executive Director of the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation said, “The Foundation’s Board of Directors was impressed with the way the communities of Polson and Ronan and the Salish and Kootenai Tribe joined together to construct facilities that would benefit youth for generations to come and would also provide them with programs that would tap their creativity and inspire them to be the best they can be academically and as future leaders of our state and nation.” More
