In addition to receiving and disseminating Census materials to your clients and stakeholders, here are some quick ways to help Montana achieve a complete count:

And here’s why Census 2020 matters so much in Montana:

  • Federal, state, and local governments use census data to determine how tax dollars are spent.
  • Montana receives more than $2 billion in federal funds for highways, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and more.
  • For each person counted, Montana receives $1,989 in federal funds. Over the course of a decade, that’s nearly $20,000 per person.
  • The data collected shows geographic areas that are underserved, which informs nonprofit service delivery.
  • Data collected and published is used to inform grant proposals.
  • Census data defines legislature districts and school district areas in Montana.
  • If all of us are counted, Montana could gain another congressperson.
  • Taking part in the Census is our civic duty. It’s a way to participate in our democracy and say, “We all count!
  • The Census takes just 10 minutes to answer 9 simple questions that will shape Montana for the next 10 years. It’s vital we all do our part to get out the count.
